Augment, a new AI-powered logistics platform, has raised $25 million in seed funding in a round led by 8VC. Signaling growing investor confidence in the use of AI to optimize supply chain operations. Founded by logistics veteran Harish Abbott the founder of Deliverr. The startup is building an AI assistant called Augie, positioned as a virtual teammate for logistics teams.
The funding will help Augment scale its AI platform and continue building tools that automate operational workflows across logistics environments. Augie is designed to help companies orchestrate daily logistics operations. From scheduling and routing to decision-making—by acting as a tireless assistant that can analyze real-time data and provide actionable insights.
From Amazon to Deliverr to Augment
Abbott’s background in logistics and ecommerce gives Augment a strong foundation. Early in his career, he worked on fulfillment software at Amazon, where he gained deep experience in solving complex logistics challenges. That experience laid the groundwork for his next venture, Deliverr. A fast-shipping fulfillment platform that enabled small merchants to compete with Amazon’s delivery speed.
Deliverr’s rapid growth eventually led to a $2.1 billion acquisition by Shopify. Underscoring Abbott’s ability to identify pain points in logistics and build scalable solutions. With Augment, he’s now turning his focus to using AI to improve logistics operations at scale—not just for ecommerce merchants, but for a broader range of supply chain and warehouse operators.
AI Teammate for the Warehouse
At its core, Augment is creating a platform where AI acts as a proactive partner, not just a tool. Augie can assist logistics managers by processing high volumes of operational data, coordinating across different teams, and even making informed suggestions for optimizing supply chains.
This approach reflects a broader trend in logistics tech, where AI tools are increasingly embedded into day-to-day decision-making processes rather than being limited to long-term planning or predictive analytics. Augment’s positioning as a “teammate” rather than just software speaks to this shift toward human-AI collaboration in operational roles.
