Gravitee, an open-source-based platform that helps enterprises manage APIs and digital data pipelines, has secured $60 million in Series C funding. The round was led by Sixth Street Growth, with continued support from Riverside Acceleration Capital and Albion VC. This fresh capital injection brings the company’s total funding to over $125 million.
CEO Rory Blundell says the funds will go toward expanding Gravitee’s product capabilities and accelerating its go-to-market strategy across new global regions. The goal is to meet the increasing demand for flexible, secure, and scalable API management—especially as businesses adopt more complex architectures involving streaming data, AI agents, and hybrid environments.
“As companies integrate APIs, real-time data, and AI at unprecedented speeds, they face serious risks around observability, control, and security,” said Blundell. “We provide a unified control plane to ensure they can manage that complexity.”
Founded in 2015 by Blundell and developers Azize Elamrani, David Brassely, Nicolas Géraud, and Titouan Compiegne, Gravitee started as an open-source passion project. It has since grown into a revenue-generating platform that supports hundreds of enterprise customers globally. Some notable clients include Blue Yonder, Michelin, Roche, and Tide.
What sets Gravitee’s API platform apart is its ability to manage both synchronous APIs (which return data immediately) and asynchronous APIs (which return data later)—a feature many of its competitors, like Blobr and StepZen, don’t fully support.
Gravitee offers flexible deployment options, allowing customers to use the platform as a SaaS solution, deploy it on-premises, or self-host it. Across all configurations, users can design and test APIs, monitor traffic through an intuitive dashboard, and enforce security and governance policies.
In FY2024, Gravitee reported $22 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and currently employs about 130 people. The company expects to grow its team to 200 by the end of the year.
Blundell believes Gravitee’s focus on hybrid API environments, observability, and security-first design positions the company well for long-term growth. With more companies seeking to integrate data from distributed systems and AI applications, Gravitee is betting on its ability to simplify complexity without sacrificing control.
