Sweep, an Israeli enterprise software startup pioneering agentic AI, has raised $22.5 million in Series B funding to expand its platform and grow its go-to-market and engineering teams. The round was led by Insight Partners, with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners.

Founded in 2021 by Ido Gaver and Eran Kirshenboim, Sweep helps companies streamline complex software environments like Salesforce and HubSpot. Its platform uses real-time issue detection and auto-generated documentation to reduce the manual burden of managing sprawling enterprise systems.

The startup’s founding team previously built Flok, a customer engagement platform acquired by Wix.

Agentic AI: Solving the Hidden Costs of Enterprise Software

Sweep’s platform tackles one of enterprise software’s biggest frustrations: the high cost of poor user adoption and system misalignment. Research by McKinsey shows that employees spend 20% of their time searching for information across disconnected systems—wasting both time and money.

Where traditional automation follows rules, agentic AI takes autonomous action, detecting problems in real time and adjusting workflows without waiting for a user command. This allows platforms like Salesforce to not just operate faster—but smarter.

Sweep’s approach reflects a broader shift from AI assistants to autonomous agents. These new systems don’t just support humans—they pursue business goals proactively, making decisions within clearly defined boundaries. For organizations that spend millions on underused software, the potential efficiency gains are significant.

From Reactive to Proactive: The Rise of Agentic Workspaces

Sweep’s “agentic workspace” is part of a growing movement to transform business software from static tools into self-optimizing systems. Instead of relying on human admins to fix broken workflows or update configurations, Sweep’s agents learn, adapt, and act—saving time and reducing errors.

According to HBR, this evolution marks a turning point for enterprise AI. While chatbots and assistants wait for prompts, agentic systems can plan and execute complex workflows independently. A recent survey found that 76% of businesses plan to deploy agentic AI by 2026, driven by its potential to improve efficiency and reduce IT overhead.

In companies like Wix and NBC Sports, agentic tools have already proven valuable, automating high-volume, rules-driven tasks while freeing up teams to focus on strategic work.

Accountability in AI-Driven Enterprise Systems

As Sweep and other startups scale these powerful systems, one big challenge looms: who’s responsible when AI makes a bad call? In regulated industries, accountability and audit trails are non-negotiable. A study shows that 68% of enterprises deploying agentic AI are concerned about governance and control.

Successful implementation depends on balancing autonomy with oversight. Systems need clear boundaries, with humans defining which decisions can be made automatically—and which require manual review.

While the promise of hands-off operations is appealing, history reminds us that full automation rarely replaces human judgment. Instead, it enhances it—allowing people to focus on what matters most, while machines handle the rest.

With this new funding round, Sweep aims to scale responsibly, giving businesses the benefits of automation without losing control.
